2022 was another year full of tree maintenance, new dangers to watch out for, and successful projects. As we look forward to 2023, we recap the past year while gearing up for the new year ahead.
2022 Recap
This year, we educated our clients about the necessities of seasonal tree care for guaranteed arboreal health and the risks many pests post to trees in our region. Some of these pests include brown tail moths, spotted lantern flies, emerald ash borers, hemlock wooly adelgids, and the spongy moth (Lymantria Dispar). Each of these pests targets a variety of different trees and can cause severe damage or even tree or bush death if allowed to thrive. Dead trees pose a danger to the environment, your family, and any beings that could be harmed by a falling dead tree. Don’t let 2022 problems come into 2023 – let us help with all your tree needs!
2023 Trends
Since the USDA hardiness zone map was last updated in 2012, nearly half the country is at least half a zone warmer. This means that trees need a little extra help adapting. On their own, trees may fail at planting due to a change in zone weather. Fortunately, trees are a part of the climate solution. The trees we plant today will have an effect until 2123 and beyond, meaning that we must ensure the trees we plant today are equipped for the future if we hope to save the planet. These trees will require constant monitoring for pests, healthy growth, and disease.
